It snowed about 15 inches this past weekend and I did not go boarding. The weather man had predicted a measly 3-6 inches, and while that’s still nice i thought I would spend some time at home this weekend and relax and get some stuff done. Well, I woke up to 8 inches of powder and about another 8 dropped over the course of the day. You could say I was bumming just a bit..
It happens though, and while I could have made the trip to the mountain in the heavy snowfall I decided to stick with my plans miss out on this one. Luckily my good neighbor down the street decided to take his ATV for a spin on the snowy dead-end road. While talking to him we decided it would be a good idea to tie a rope to the back an perhaps pull something with it. Needless to the say the entire neighborhood was soon outside taking turns being pulled on a sled, and myself even got a few runs in on my board.
What I’m getting at is, do you ever voluntarily miss out on glorious powder? I would usually NEVER miss a good pow day unless I absolutely had to work. However a weekend at home sounded nice, and even though it would have been a great day on the mountain, it turned out to be a great day at home as well. So if you do get stuck home with a foot of pow outside, what do you do to pass the time?

Oh wow; first off, can I just say that I am JEALOUS?! The packed 7-day-old snow Monday at Big Bear was considered “good snow” in SoCal
Jealousy aside, though, I try not to miss a good powder day, especially since they’re very rare here. My one caveat is when the powder is coming down too hard to make my trip enjoyable; that’s when I’d opt for the warmth of my own home
A new snowboard video is always a good way to pass the time, though, or blogging about it!
