Let set the record straight, just because I live in New Hampshire does not mean I like NASCAR, nor does it require me to only drink Pabst Blue Ribbon, although I have been known to.

I enjoy living in a small town, but sometimes I understand why people stereotype us. There are some real wacko’s out in these woods. Harmless people for the most part, but weird none-the-less. So im here to clear my name of any generalization you may be thinking.

- I do not participate in the shameless hunting of animals.
- I absolutely have all of my teeth.
- There is no rusty car frame in my front yard.
- I do not drive a pickup with a wooden flatbed, deer antlers and a confederate flag.

Now that we have that settled let me tell you why I do choose to live in a small town. The answer is simple: It’s beautiful.

I would much rather have a backyard full of trees and rivers than Starbucks and traffic lights. There’s something great about seeing the stars at night and hearing the birds in the morning.

Sure I miss out on some luxuries. Public transportation is non-existent. There are no 5 star restaurants in walking distance and as for the night life? Well.. it’s there, but mostly consists coyotes and fisher cats.

I guess I’m just not cut out for the city, what about you?

I know what you mean about living in a small town, we can have some odd people. But at least you like where you live!

I grew up in Salem NH so it wasn’t as bad but I still got lots of that Nascar stuff.

Well as much as I would love to live in a small town, my profession (accountant) forces me to live in suburbia! Although my back yard is not filled with trees and beauty, thankfully Oregon is!

I cant wait to get back to the small town world!! I miss it TOO much. Orlando is no place to grow up or raise children IMO, even though I know others feel differently.

I don’t live in a really small town, but people look at me funny when I tell them where I live. Guess I don’t look the part of a native. I moved to the area because it’s not as expensive as my other options closer to my job. My college town was small. You could tell the locals from the students by how many teeth they had (young and old).
