Chunnel.tv put together a nice tribute to skateboard veteran Mark Gonzales that is absolutely worth a few minutes to check out. They have included the 09 interview that Adidas filmed interviewing Gonzales about his thoughts towards skateboarding and his long career being successful at it. Also included in the tribute are a few earlier videos from the early 90’s as well as Mark tearing it up almost 15 year later in 06.
Mark Gonzales has had one of the longest careers in skateboarding, an impressive feat to say the least. He is also responsible for introducing a unique and artistic presence into the sport as you will see in the video “West Coast”.

Zazzle.com is a well built online portal that allows users to register for an account, upload their artwork and sell it on a number of different retail products. However, while they still offer lame mouse pads and coffee mugs like your local print shop they also provide the ability to sell skateboards with your own work on them. Similar to what www.cafepress.com has done for clothing, Zazzle is attempting to do for skateboards.. and uhm.. mouse pads, key chains, aprons and much more.. but most importantly skateboards.

I stumbled upon some creative skateboard designs while browsing Deviant Art the other day. The series to your left is called Oxidizzy. It is offered on Zazzle across their North American Maple line of board construction. I like the repeating patterns and urban style that Oxidizzy pulls off on this set, they definitely hit a trend in the market with these illustrations. Volcom Stone premiered an entire round of 90 second skate videos on their big screen at the Volcom Skate Park last Friday. The videos were put together by 14 skate shops from around the country. Daewon Song stars in this new short film New Shoes or No Shoes to promote the Daewon X Almost skate shoes. Daewon Song is the co-owner of Almost along side good friend and amazing skater Rodney Mullen. Together these guys pretty much tear up the technicality scene in skateboarding.
We have all seen some good tricks pulled with no shoes on, but this is getting out of hand if you ask me.
