To follow up the post about our favorite Flickr snowboard photography, BND presents the 10 most amazing skateboard shots found. Judgement was based on many factors such as composition, action, lighting and basically just how sweet that shot looked. No need for further explanation.
These photos do not belong to me and each one is linked back to the original source
There are so many other good photos on Flickr, with more being uploaded everyday. I will have to post another top 10 later this year.
Matt Fries, a good friend of Boards and Decks, had a few photos taken of him standing in front of the 78 foot kicker at Okemo Mountain in Vermont. These images were then given to Ross Brier, the founder of Panty Tree Productions, and made into an 11″ x 17″ poster.
I’m pretty pumped up right now because I just placed an order at Brociety for a brand new 09 Salomon Sanchez board.
I desperately need a new board after this season, and have been watching Brociety in hopes of finding a good park board in my size. I picked this baby up for only $135.00! Can’t beat that deal with a sharpened stick.
The board is a 151, I rode a 149 for the past few seasons. i was hoping to go with a 148 but finding one for a good deal can be tough sometimes. Hopefully those 2cm won’t make too much a difference. However, with the deal I got I wouldn’t hesitate to swap the board at the end of the season if it’s not what I was hoping for.
The Saloman Sanches is a true twin tip with a light-weight wood core. Featuring great flex and even better pop, it’s sure to hold it’s own on the park next season. However I won’t officially get a real review out until then because here on the East Coast mountains are closing faster than you can say boardsanddecks.
Daewon Song stars in this new short film New Shoes or No Shoes to promote the Daewon X Almost skate shoes. Daewon Song is the co-owner of Almost along side good friend and amazing skater Rodney Mullen. Together these guys pretty much tear up the technicality scene in skateboarding.
We have all seen some good tricks pulled with no shoes on, but this is getting out of hand if you ask me.
When your done watching the video you might as well enter to winThe All This and Daewon’s Socks Contest for a chance at some of the latest Daewon X Almost gear.
Streetlight Manifesto is a ska / punk band from East Brunswick, NJ that formed back in 2002. They are one of my all time favorite bands and I would recommend them to anyone looking for some upbeat and unique music.
They began years ago through vocalist and guitarist Thomas Kalnoky in a three person band called Gimp. From there the more well know New Jersey band called Catch 22 was formed where they released their debut of Keasbey Nights. In 2001 Kalnoky gathered an even larger crew, who knew it was possible, and formed Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution, a short lived band with one EP release. Although Catch 22 still exists, many fans of the original Kalnoky crew do not consider them the same as the original, but instead latched onto Streetlight Manifesto.
Streetlight has released three major albums, including the re-release of Keasbey Nights, and continues to record as time goes on. They have a huge and dedicated fan base because quite honestly, no one compares. From the unique vocals of Kalnoky to the amazing instrumentals of the rest of the band, Streetlight really sets the bar high for new era Ska.
In September of 2008, the 99 Songs of Revolution was announced. The project will consist of two full length Streetlight albums as well as two full length Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution albums! In addition, four other albums will be recorded, two each by two members of Streetlight. It was rumored that the first of these albums would be released late 2008, as published by Victory Records. However, that obviously did not happen and we all still sit, bated breath, waiting for the first release.
Until that time comes I invite you to give Streetlight Manifesto a chance. If your at all interested in Punk or Ska music, they won’t let you down. Take a moment to listen to the attached track, “Down, Down, Down to Mephisto’s Cafe” off their latest release “Somewhere in the Between”.
